Martini Racing Ducati 1098

Martini Racing Ducati 1098S
Since 1968, the Martini Racing livery has been synonymous with championship-winning race cars. So it was only a matter of time before the iconic colors appeared on a motorcycle. The Ducati 1098 was a good choice: it’s a supermodel clotheshorse for high-impact paint schemes, as the exquisite Gulf-Ducati showed. This 1098S was built by Nor-Cal Ducati dealer Hattar Motorsports, receiving a full race prep (Motorcycle USA did a track test) before being repainted in the Martini Racing colors. Check the terrific Martini Racing website for more vintage racing goodness of the four-wheeled kind—including the 1975 Porsche Carrera RS and the Lancia 037 Berlinetta rally car.

The Conversation Wars

Modernista did it. Skittles did it. And now the world’s hottest advertising firm, Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CPB), has done it, too: the NY outfit has re-launched its corporate web site as a conversational social hub that curates what is being said about CPB rather than staging what CPB has to say. Some may scoff at this move and denigrate it as “sooooo six months ago,” but I agree with Paul Isakson when he heralds the influence of the new CPB site on the rest of the industry as potentially paradigm-shifting.

Graphics for a 4th of July

Today is Independence Day in USA. It's a great day for them, and that is something you could see on their newspapers. And what do people do in newspapers when they want to do something big but have no news? Graphics. They allow us to use non breaking news data to build a feature that can be really interesting. Here you are some examples.

Our flag, a graphical history

Brutal Redux: Crunchball 3000

God, I just love how Brutal Deluxe feels as it sits on your tongue.

Nosing through the comments thread on Kickabout League between relaxing games of simulated foot-to-ball, I caught Supraliminal disparaging the game and hailing the wonder of Crunchball 3000. Awesome, thinks I. If it’s better than Kickabout League, that’s great. I’ve found a new crush. Sadly, after playing, it’s really not, being a straight Speedball 2 clone with none of the online multiplayer options or subtlety of play of Kickabout League (You may note the repeated links are me trying to make more of you play the thing. C’mon. Man up). Which isn’t to say it’s not a bit of a giggle. Some more details below…

First there was fantasy RPG Two Worldsand now there is two of it. Them. The announcement about the twoness of Two Worlds was made today, as TopWare Interactive and Reality Pump released this extraordinary sentence into the wild: ““Two Worlds II” presents a totally new gamer experience, one in which 2 years of intensive development has enabled quantum leaps in all spheres: completely overhauled AI and balancing standards, experienced authors, the active combat system and the brand-new engine all combine to provide an unforgettable experience where excitement, sheer enjoyment and graphics rule.”

Sheer enjoyment and graphics. Imagine that, if you can.

North American Section 8 Beta Freed(Ish)

A mission! Should you choose to accept it, this internet will self-destruct in five seconds, etc etc. Go and get the Section 8 beta from Fileplanet, and find out what is a-happenin’ in this multiplayer sci-fi shooter. Blues reports that even this simple task won’t be made too easy, as “this event is a staggered beta with keys distributed first come, first served with limited access. Beta keys will be distributed on a regular schedule.” Sounds limited.

And yet, if successful, you will earn some kind of imaginary badge from the RPS Downloading And Playing Academy Of Testing Games That Are Not Finished Yet. Go!Related stories:
